Such substances are commonly found in metal plating, fire-fighting foams, polishes, cleaning agents, textiles, and electronic and semiconductor manufacturing fields . They are now being used as typical PFAS substances in consumer products, threatening human health and the global environment.The regulations will come into effect on the twentieth day after publication, with specific exemptions for PFHxS, its salts and related substances as follows:Previously, the European Commission published amendments to the EU POPs Regulation (EU) 2023/1608 in its Official Journal on December 9, 2022:Incorporating PFHxS, its salts and related substances into the list of substances in Annex IV aims to prevent waste from being contaminated by PFHxS, its salts and related substances, and to supervise waste containing such substances.The specific restrictions are as follows:Waste contaminated with this substance may be otherwise disposed of or recycled in accordance with relevant EU legislation, provided that the content of the listed substance in the waste is below the following concentration limits:For PFHxS and its salts: 1 mg/kg (0.0001% of mass);Sum of PFHxS related compounds: 40 mg/kg (0.004% by mass).It can be seen that European countries are gradually paying more attention to PFAS substances, and control regulations are becoming increasingly strict.PTTS reminds relevant companies to promptly pay attention to the latest developments in EU POPs regulations , adjust their products for export to the EU, and fulfill corresponding compliance obligations .
