Product carbon footprint refers to the quantification of greenhouse gas emissions from direct and indirect activities throughout the entire lifecycle of a product. Quantifying the greenhouse gas emissions and removals of a product at various stages of its lifecycle is beneficial for identifying key links in emissions and removals, and developing action plans to reduce emissions and increase removals.
ISO 14067:2018, Requirements and Guidelines for Quantifying the Carbon Footprint of Greenhouse Gas Products, is based on the principles, requirements, and guidelines for quantifying the carbon footprint of products throughout their lifecycle. This standard is applicable to the assessment of greenhouse gas emissions throughout the lifecycle of all goods and service activities. Organizations conducting such activities can conduct carbon footprint assessments based on this standard.
